The Beginning
In 2025, CHAYIM Agricultural Cities was founded with a bold vision: to revolutionize agriculture in Malawi and beyond by creating self-sustaining, climate-smart innovation hubs where farming is more than survival but a platform for wealth, dignity and national transformation.
Born out of years of reflection, community engagement and a deep understanding of Malawi’s agricultural limitations, CHAYIM was established to break the cycle of maize dependency and usher in a new era of crop diversification, agribusiness and rural industrialization.
CHAYIM is not just a project it is a hybrid structure, functioning as both a social-impact foundation and a commercial agribusiness enterprise. This unique model allows CHAYIM to attract donor investments, build sustainable value chains and empower local farmers and youth through profitable, scalable ventures.
